Pros and cons of 123QWERTY: Customize Alphanumeric Keyboard Keys app for iPhone and iPad

123QWERTY: Customize Alphanumeric Keyboard Keys app good for

This keyboard alternative, while awesome already, has the potential to be the best in the app store. I love how the keypad and basic punctuation are all on one screen and the custom keys are a godsend. Yes, there are a few bugs but when I brought them to the attention of the developer he was appreciative and assured me that fixes are in the works. Add in a spellcheck function and autocorrect (I have been a poor speller for the past 34 years and I dont expect the next 34 to be any different lol) and this keyboard will be a true five-star gem!
Almost a PERFECT keyboard replacement, just wish it had these options and would be perfect. * hide the keyboard button (I have to switch back to standard all of the time to * spell check doesnt work at all while using the keyboard for me, thats a big onedo this, then back) * arrow keys * ability to change height (sorry if this is already there, but i cant find it) * maybe a way to access different characters by holding the key And swipe, I suspect this is pipe dream due to out of scope of app, but would rock! Any rate digging it, thanks

Some bad moments

I just need the 5th row with numbers. This keyboard looks ugly and has a keypad in the right corner. You cannot configure this away.
Its funny how typing becomes a learned response, you immediately notice when things are not in the correct place and you have to re-learn this skill. The keys are so much smaller it definitely decreases accuracy. It would be nice having a number pad like my large iMac keyboard but there is simply not enough real estate on an iPad screen. Custom phrase is handy but that is also available in the normal keyboard.
I had 123qwerty on my iPhone 6s plus, on an iPad 3 retina and my brother had it on his 6 plus, when it works its great, but it only took us a few days to realize its too problematic to keep. Way too often the standard keyboard comes up, even in apps where 123 did work, and yes, I read the instructions and moved 123 to the top of the keyboard list. Sometimes nothing comes up at all and its very difficult to get it back. The instructions also suggests many workarounds, which in itself shows there are problems.
I love the concept of this keyboard. I use my iPad for SSH into some of my servers, and the default keyboard is useless for this, since you have to navigate to a different page for practically every other character, so having everything I need under my fingers is great. The problem is that I cant get the keyboard to work without issue. It has a habit of just randomly activating shift, which when youre dealing with commands in root could be the difference between properly executing a command and bricking your system. Until the app is refined and improved, its useless because of this and other weird bugs.
Good: nice to have numbers and Custom Keys available. Very nice. Bad: excludes Predictive Shortcuts Big, big negative!
Awesome custom keyboard Now I dont have to hassle swapping screens to type a message Also great having a number keypad in landscape mode
